The Principal of Advantage Capital Partners is Ryan Brennan. He recently attended a Foundation Banquet with Barbara Dixon who is the President of the University. Brennan gave a keynote speech while at the banquet. He also had the pleasure of telling the University a gift in the amount of $40,000 had been made. The gift was specifically for the Truman’s Missouri Government Internship Program.
The gift was from some of the alumni from Truman State University. This included Ryan Brennan, Scott Zajac and Advantage Capital Partners which is their current company. This $40,000 gift will go towards the establishment of an endowment. The endowment is designed to be of benefit for the Missouri Government Internship Program.
Zajac holds the position of senior managing director with the firm. Brennan is the principal. Both of them have previously belonged to a program that sent both seniors and juniors from Truman to Jefferson City. The semester the students spent there included an internship with a legislator, state agency or a public official.
Barbara Dixon spoke as the President of the University. She said Truman was truly delighted with the gift and knew it would be of great benefit to their distinctive student program. She feels a lot of opportunities will be expanded for their students with a rock solid financial base that will carry well into the future.
The earnings made from the endowment will be used for stipends used by the participants in the program. The money will help to offset the students living costs and expenses for the semester. The University is showing their support for the program with unrestricted gifts.
The gift is also being used to try to gain even more support from other participants in the program. This is especially true for corporations whose interest is similar. The vice president for advancement of the University is Mark Gambaiana. He says approximately 500 students from Truman have been a part of the program since it began in 1972.
Advantage Capital Partners was founded in 1992. The private equity firm makes investments in companies who show promise in the development of economics. They have been responsible for raising over $700 million in capital.
